Space On My Hands eBook Fredric Brown
This is a very interesting volume of science fiction short stories. Strangely enough, Mr. Brown did not try that hard to guess what changes might occur in thirty, forty or fifty years. And this is all too obvious and a little disappointing as we read his stories from over fifty years ago. But they give us a sense of what the hopes and fears were of intelligent man just a half century ago. As time goes by, the changes we experience in the world around us seem ever more intense and demanding. and we can easily forget out history. In fact, when looking back, we really don't know just how far to look back. Often, even those periods that we have personally experienced have become prejudiced in our memories by the emphasis given in news round ups and the dramatic nature of the information media. Some of the stories here deal with issues that are no longer relevant, and others with possibilities that might still lie ahead of us. I found it a real pleasure to spend some time considering the thoughts of the author.Product details

Space On My Hands eBook Fredric Brown Reviews
I enjoyed all the stories. My least favorite was the mouse. Very good ideas to make you think and enjoy. I will definitely read more books by this author.
Best Sci-Fi illustration ever! The cover could sell anything! It's a very good choice, especially to introduce a young child to science fiction or to reading. An assembly of short stories.
A collections of 9 short stories on a wide range of themes. All are great stories.
I read this 40 years ago and I liked it just as much this time. Must read for any sci-fi fan.
Enjoyed the book, liked the fact that I could read a bit, stop a bit and then go back to it. Interesting characters and great plot twists.
If you like the very different and sci-fi you may like these short stories. They are well written, and come from way out in left field, varying from a look at one man's psychosis to strange new worlds. Enjoy.
These nine stories are uniformly very good. I previously read this book back in 1970 and though I didn't remember the stories I remember I really liked them. Re-reading them was a joy and re-affirmed my opinion of this collection. Brown is a very good short story writer and has a very unique style. I thought the best story in the book was "knock" - an ingenious take on the story about the last man on Earth who hears on knock on his door
